Welcome to Year 10
I am delighted to be leading the year 10 cohort through the final years of academic achievement here at Ashfield School. The year 10 pastoral team and its tutors will support all students through the new challenges they will face and offer guidance through the work experience process and beyond into GCSE mock exams and final exams in the years to come. We have high expectations of our students and so will provide them with every opportunity to succeed and become mature and well-rounded individuals moving forward into year 11. As a team we pride ourselves on building positive relationships with students and parents. Reward and celebration of success are an integral part of developing our ethos. We want all students to develop confidence in their abilities, having the determination to reach their potential which in turn will aid their personal development towards future destinations.
Although year 10 is a big step forward towards students achieving their predicted potential it is also a great time to be involved in extracurricular activities such as the school show, House Championship activities, school clubs and sport. Being involved in such activities will help develop unique individuals that have a variety of skills to offer potential new employers. We feel that taking part in such activities helps to work towards a balanced and positive lifestyle which in turn contributes toward student focus and success academically.
Wishing you all every luck for the future,
Mrs S Guest
