Welcome to Year 11
We have a hugely challenging but exciting year ahead and I am thoroughly looking forward to leading our Year 11 cohort through their final year at Ashfield School. This year group has gone from strength to strength and we are extremely proud to be their Pastoral Team, it has been a pleasure supporting them through their time at Ashfield School.
This year we aim to support and challenge each individual student through the final year of their GCSE journey. We will ensure they reach their full potential as members of not only the school community but the wider community in which they are rapidly becoming adults as well as academically. We will only accept the highest standards of behaviour and expect all students to have a fantastic attitude towards their own learning. In addition to this we expect excellent attendance and punctuality.
I would like to thank all parents and carers for their continued support of Ashfield School to date and look forward to working with you all to secure the best possible GCSE grades for your children. Over the coming year I would ask all parents to support the school in ensuring your child works as hard as they can towards their GCSEs. This can be done by:
- Encouraging your child to attend after school revision sessions put on by staff
- Encouraging your child to revise for exams in their own time at home
- Ensuring your child has an attendance of 96% or above
- Ensuring your child is completing homework tasks on time and to an appropriate standard
- Ensure you communicate with the school as early as possible should any issues arise
Year 11 is also one of the most exciting years in your child’s time at school. Plans for Post 16 and further education are becoming clearer, and career plans are falling into place. There will also be end of year celebrations such as Leavers Day and the Year 11 Prom; which I am sure will be a night they remember for the rest of their lives!
Our motto this year will be; work hard, do your best and be kind, respectful and polite and most of all, let’s make sure this is our best year yet!
