Welcome to Year 10
Miss Shawcroft, Mr. Blazak, the tutor team and I are very much looking forward to once again guiding our extremely talented and dynamic year group through the next chapter of their school journey. Year 10 is a new challenge for students as they begin Key Stage 4 and what is a very important time. Our team will support with every step of this journey and aim to continue to build dynamic, inquisitive and well-rounded students who progress in line with their potential and beyond. We have high expectations of our students and aim to challenge, reward and develop the confidence in their abilities to succeed. We are very proud to have so many strong relationships with students and parents and feel that these relationships lead to positive outcomes for the students within our year group.
There are many extra-curricular activities to look forward to this year with students encouraged to take part in House Championship activities, school clubs and sport, as well as dance and theatre productions amongst many others. We encourage our students to plan their time in order to take part and enjoy such activities alongside their school work. We feel that taking part in such activities helps to work towards a balanced and positive lifestyle which in turn contributes toward student focus and success academically. Students will also be applying for work experience placements with the help and support from tutors and our Careers and Employment Pathways Coordinator Miss. King. We recommend being proactive in the approach to securing a work experience place as there are many exciting opportunities out there - so priorities those applications and get organised early!
Wishing good luck for the year ahead.
