Royal Visit for Ashfield Students

Royal Visit for Ashfield Students

Ashfield School students Josh Walker, Kerad Armstrong and Jacob Scott (pictured, right, with their award), along with fellow Ashfield student Reece Bailey and their scout group, 5th Sutton Scout Group, recently visited Buckingham Palace to collect a Youth United Community Action Award for their work with the Not in Education Employment or Training (NEET) Community Action Project.  Explorers from several schools in the area, including Ashfield and Quarrydale, took part in various activities at The Mill Adventure Base back in July 2015 alongside young people from The Inspire and Achieve Foundation.

Mr David Scott, who accompanied the scouts and is a Governor at Ashfield, described the day as ‘an amazing experience’, and the students agreed…it’s really not difficult to see why from these photographs!
